traditional sauna room models | There is a wide range of sauna models on the market. How do you find the right one?
There is now an enormous selection of sauna cabins in all imaginable designs. It is not easy to find the one that meets all your requirements and also looks good and fits the premises.
Consider space requirements
The most important thing when choosing the right sauna is of course the space you have available. The size of your sauna depends on this. However, you should have at least one side in your sauna that is about 2 meters long inside. Otherwise lying down will be very uncomfortable later on. Everything else depends on the available space and your budget. The height of the sauna cabin is similar to all sauna kits known to us and is approx. 2.05 meters. However, there are now sloping sauna models to make installation in a sloping roof easier.
Which start should it be?
Also, decide the type of entry (corner entry or entry on the side) and the design of the door. Glass doors look very nice, let light into the sauna room, and do not warp. But they are a bit more sensitive when it comes to cleaning and of course, they fog up a bit because of the humidity.
Wooden sauna doors insulate better, are usually a bit cheaper than glass doors, and look rather rustic (which is of course a matter of taste), but there is a risk of warping.
Observe clearances for ventilation
When making your selection, bear in mind that you will later also need a distance between the sauna cabin and the wall of the sauna room. 15 centimeters should be sufficient here. Ideally, you should also have this distance to the ceiling.
For how many people should the cabin be
Think about how many people will later use the sauna at the same time and what their preferences are (more sitting, more lying down). For children, it sometimes makes sense to have a wooden slatted frame on the floor as well. (As a replacement for a bottom sauna bench).
Don’t forget that the sauna oven must later have room in the sauna cabin and that there should still be enough free space to stand in front of it and make an infusion.
The optics are also important
When it comes to looks, your taste is of course what counts most. Should it be rustic or modern? The sauna gets a wood look or smooth colored surfaces on the outside.
It is difficult to give a recommendation here. You should compare and decide for yourself.
